Most jobs on yachts and many higher boating qualifications require that you have proven experience at sea. Sometimes this may just be hours on the water, but in some cases you need to be in charge for longer passages or overnight trips. This type of experience isn't always easy to come by, but on IBIS we give you the chance to walk in the captain's shoes for a while. So if you need to get some miles into your logbook, why not do it the Caribbean way cruising the islands and having some fun at the same time?
|
Sailing on a smaller boat brings you into close proximity with all the yacht's systems and operations. IBIS' regular maintenance schedule and active sailing programme mean that you gain experience in areas of the boat hat you might not otherwise get to know. And for those of you wanting to polish your existing deck, interior or navigation skills, we invite you to join in with any aspect of the day to day running of the boat. |
IBIS' crew has a good knowledge of the British MCA system of yachting qualifications and a chart of the Career Paths can be found here. The majority of private and commercial yachts operating worldwide have a British territory flag and fall under the MCA system. However, if you have already started training under another system, we can show you how you can map your career and skills to get work more easily. We are also happy to help you review your CV, and to put you in touch with crew agencies worldwide. |
Well.....why not! |
