The Caribbean Low Season runs from mid June to mid November. The winds are lighter, there is a greater chance of rain and it tends to be more humid. There is also a chance of hurricanes and we build our itinerary around the South of the island chain where this chance is most remote. That said, the sailing is always good, there is usually a cooling breeze blowing through the anchorage, the islands are much quieter and there is still daily sunshine! You will also be able to take advantage of off-season flight prices. |

The Caribbean comes alive between mid November and the end of May when there are steady sailing winds and it is safe for IBIS to travel to any of the islands. The regatta circuit is in full swing, Carnivale is pumping and the tourist influx makes for a lively time ashore. Flights, of course, tend to be a little more expensive and availability often limited so it's worth booking well ahead, expecially for the peak times at Christmas, New Year and Easter. |
